It's Go Time for Winelands Property Sellers

With a surge in both demand and selling prices for Cape Winelands real estate, sellers are well positioned to list their properties now, says Aimee Campbell, Principal of Greeff Christie's International Real Estate Franschhoek and Stellenbosch.
"The Stellenbosch and Franschhoek Markets have increased by a staggering amount in the last 12 months alone. We see values having grown by at least 15% and in some cases up to 20%," says Aimee, adding that smallholding and farm properties have also gained in value, with larger pieces of agricultural land achieving a minimum of R1 million per hectare and fetching up to R20 Million per hectare for smaller hectarages.
"As an asset class, real estate in the towns of Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek has performed spectacularly, with an average selling price growth of 64% over the last five years, and over ten years, the average selling price has doubled according to Lightstone," says Aimee.
While the demand in Winelands towns is for properties across the board, Aimee says the fastest growing segment of the market is represented by buyers looking for fix-me- uppers and properties they can renovate and improve.
Award winning agency Greeff Christie's International Real Estate offers a specialised service tailormade for sellers with an unparalleled database of qualified buyers globally thanks to an international network of property specialists.
Joining the team is Tania van Deemter, a well-seasoned agent with 25 years of experience under her belt. Tania started her property career in Central London in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster and Belgravia where she specialised in selling exclusive homes to high-net-worth buyers from the UK, Europe, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Dubai. Upon returning to South Africa after a 14-year stint in London, Tania and her husband and twin daughters settled in Franschhoek, where she quickly made a name for herself in the Franschhoek residential property market. Tania is a respected and trusted agent, known for her integrity, honesty and expert local knowledge. She specialises in sales and rentals of family homes, estates, sectional title and significant farm sales. Tania has a big heart for the community and specifically underprivileged children, and in her spare time can often be found doing charity projects, which includes helping with the local cleanup team and establishing a garden at the Langrug Community Centre.
Tania joins top performing agent, Guy Healey at Franschhoek Greeff Christie's International Real Estate. Guy has honed his expertise in real estate by purchasing and developing several of his own properties in the country town of Riebeek Kasteel. This eventually led to a career as a real estate agent in 2010. "It was a match made in heaven, and my love for both people and property came together, and I have enjoyed and continue to enjoy the process of pairing people and property," says Guy.
"Guy's passion and expertise in the property field, along with his appreciation for community and the value of living in a small town, make him a perfect fit for the Franschhoek Greeff Christie's International Real Estate team," says Aimee.
Recent significant sales by Greeff Christie's International include: 4Ha Farm in Franschhoek which sold for R49 million, a 33Ha Farm in Franschhoek Rural which sold for R29,950 million and a 3-bedroomed Franschhoek home which sold for R20 million.
